Staff Wellbeing and Workload Self-Review Questions for Leaders (2026/27) is a self-review tool for headteachers, senior leaders and governors. 2026/27 edition, rewritten for the Ofsted school inspection toolkit (v2.0) for inspections from 7 September 2026, where staff wellbeing and workload sit within the leadership and governance evaluation area.
The toolkit asks whether leaders take account of staff wellbeing, keep workload manageable, protect staff from bullying and discrimination, and use staff time well, and whether the responsible body considers leaders' own workload and wellbeing.
