How HeadteacherChat began

HeadteacherChat was founded in 2012 by Lucy and Jonathan Coy. What began as a weekly conversation between school leaders has grown into a peer community of over 3,150 members.

Why school leaders come here

Leadership can be isolating. Drawing on their experience as headteachers and senior leaders, Lucy and Jonathan found that the most useful advice often came from peers sharing what had worked in their own schools. HeadteacherChat was created to make that practical support easier to find and share.

Who it is for

The paid community is for headteachers, deputy heads, assistant heads and people in comparable roles who currently carry operational responsibility for leading a school. Member conversations stay inside the private member community.

Support beyond the community

The community sits at the centre of HeadteacherChat. Around it are The Roundup, a public briefing with source links, practical resources and planners shaped by school leadership experience.
