A two-page A3 planner of the national deadlines a primary head in England needs for 2026/27, set out month by month from September 2026 to August 2027. Print it for the office wall or share it with your SBM, data manager and assessment lead so everyone works from the same dates.

  • Statutory assessments: reception baseline, KS2 tests (10 to 13 May 2027), multiplication tables check, phonics screening check, EYFS Profile and the 2027 KS2 teacher assessment dates
  • Census days and DfE return dates
  • Funding deadlines, including pupil premium, the inclusion strategy statement, PE and sport premium and SFVS
  • Admissions dates for Year 6 and Reception families, and for schools that are their own admission authority
  • Resignation dates for teachers and headteachers
  • Space under each month for your own school's dates

Up to date for 2026

It includes the new duties that started this September: KCSIE 2026, the allergy safety policy, the removal of the supervision exemption for volunteers, the branded uniform limit, revised RSHE guidance, statutory mobile phones guidance and the information sharing duty from 30 September.

Page two lists annual jobs with no fixed national date, a full set of references and a disclaimer. Dates were checked against GOV.UK on 30 September 2026. Some KS2 dates are marked TBC until STA publishes the 2027 assessment arrangements in October, and we'll update the file when they're confirmed.
