A headteacher's report built to help governors govern rather than record everything the school has done. It is organised around four questions: are we on track, are pupils safe, what's at risk, and what do governors need to decide. It was rebuilt for September 2026 and comes with a completed worked example so you can see how it reads when filled in.

- Headteacher's Report to Governors template (about 10 pages): a one-page governor dashboard with current, previous, target, trend and status for each area; an actions tracker for items raised at the last meeting; section reports for safeguarding, attendance and behaviour, outcomes and curriculum, SEND and inclusion, finance and resources, staffing and workforce, school development plan progress, and top risks, each marked for assurance, discussion or decision; a safeguarding assurance checklist built around KCSIE 2026; and a list of suggested appendices (A to J).
