1,265 hours is the maximum directed time for full-time teachers on STPCD terms; it does not apply to headteachers, deputy or assistant headteachers, or leading practitioners. It is not the total number of hours teachers work, and the pack explains why it should not be confused with the 32.5-hour pupil week.
