Mathematics Subject Leader Questions (2026/27) are self-review questions for mathematics leads in primary and secondary schools, and for senior leaders who line manage mathematics. 2026/27 edition, rewritten for the Ofsted school inspection toolkit (v2.0) for inspections from 7 September 2026.
Subject deep dives ended with the renewed framework in November 2025. These questions apply the toolkit's curriculum and teaching and achievement areas to mathematics, including strong foundations in number, fluency in number facts, keeping up rather than catching up, and support for older pupils with gaps.
