A little boy and his pet dragon are the very best of friends. They laugh, they sing, they dance, they snooze. They are both amazing - just like everyone else!

The publisher describes it as a celebration of friendship and being yourself, and as a way to start conversations about understanding and acceptance.

The boy uses a wheelchair, and the text never mentions it. Steve Antony says on his own blog that he wanted the wheelchair to be "entirely incidental", drawing on his time as a special needs support worker at an art college.

Who it is for

Early years and Key Stage 1 classes: the publisher gives an interest age from about 3 and lists it for the Early Years curriculum. It suits a story time, a library display on inclusion, or a class discussion about difference where disability is present but not the subject of the story.
