Early Years Foundation Stage framework: what changed

- 1 September 2026: New versions of the EYFS statutory frameworks have been published. The specific requirements for providers remain unchanged from the July 2026 information versions.
- 18 July 2026: The EYFS framework now includes a link to a free online safeguarding training package developed by the DfE in collaboration with the NSPCC.
- 14 July 2026: The framework has been updated to include new requirements regarding safer sleep, screen use, and the prohibition of childcare where banned dog breeds are present. It also introduces new notification requirements for providers on domestic premises regarding persons aged 16 or over living or working on the premises.
