Day three of BETT 2025 was a whirlwind of energy, insight, and collaboration, cementing its place as an unmissable event for school leaders and educators alike. The day brimmed with engaging discussions, valuable networking, and an overwhelming sense of community within the school leadership sphere.
The day began with a meeting wth a group of school leaders, and talking about the highs and lows of being a leader. Ideas were shared, and importantly, connections were made. We also spoke with the BETT Team who are keen to explore how to make the BETT Show even better next year. The conversation grew to developing effective CPD (Continuing Professional Development) for teachers and leaders and using the EEF's implementation guide as a crucial and impactful framework.
We all had a shared mission to improve outcomes for pupils, teachers and schools, so it was an empowering discussion!
Next, we took our community members on a tour of the show, and introduced them to some of our Partners. We made our way to the Secure Schools, My Login and Wonde stands, where we shown the products and how easy they were to use. We were given goody bags and a coffee! Bonus!
Next was a trip to the Canva stand, where we gathered more goodybags and had the pleasure of chatting with Darren White who showed us how to create digital newsletters to enhance communication, which were simple yet transformative.
Next was a trip to see Mark Solomons at Welbee and Laurence Royston at Team SOS. Our conversation touched on vital topics like the evolving role of technology in education, the impact of Martyn's Law, and the importance of prioritising communication and staff wellbeing.
Lunch was shared together, with yet more conversations about how we can all support each other as a community, and then we all said goodbye and went off to explore the show independently.
Throughout the day, chance encounters added even more fun! We spotted Ed Fairfield from Elementary Technology, and caught up with Kim and Vicki from Fonetti! We also saw many school leaders who we really enjoyed meeting for the first time…if that was you, it was lovely to meet you, and thank you for stopping to chat!
Key Takeaways from Day Three
- The importance of community. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how much technology you have in school, it’s who you are connected with that matters. Meeting our community members today, reassured us that our mission to support you all, and to give you impactful and simple to use resources is paramount importance.
- Leadership matters: A successful school environment hinges on IT leads and the senior leadership team working closely together to understand and address each other's challenges.
- Implementation Matters: Introducing new ideas in schools is only the first step; ensuring they are effective and sustainable requires careful planning and execution.
So now that BETT 2025 has come to an end for another year, we have been left with a sense of joy in meeting old friends,(and making new ones!), for gaining fresh perspectives and new ideas, and for having a genuine sense of gratitude for being able to help and support so many. It’s what matters to us, and so we will continue to be on a mission to make leadership better, less stressful, and easier for all.
BETT 2025 has been great this year, inspiring us to build stronger communities and drive meaningful change, and we’re looking forwards to meeting you all again 2026!
